About Xanthe

Xanthe began her journey as a therapist when she qualified as a Reflexologist in London in 2002 her qualification is accredited by the Association of Reflexologists, AoR(UK), of which Xanthe is a full member.

Soon after qualifying Xanthe emigrated to New Zealand and joined Reflexology New Zealand Incorporated (RNZ). Xanthe is a past President, Secretary and Vice President of RNZ. In 2017 Xanthe was awarded Reflexologist of the year and in 2020 she became a Life Member. RNZ is affiliated to Natural Health Practitioners of New Zealand (formerly the New Zealand Charter of Health Practitioners) and its members are able to arrange insurance and apply for membership to NHPNZ. The strength of RNZ is in its regional groups around New Zealand and Xanthe is a member of the Christchurch based Southern Reflexology Group (SRG), which is a group of practicing reflexologists who meet regularly to support each other, attending Festivals and Expos to promote reflexology and organise courses to assist with upskilling. Xanthe is a Registered Natural Therapies Practitioner with Natural Health Practitioners New Zealand for the modalities of Reflexology, CranioSacral Therapy, Remedial Massage, Fascial Kinetics (Bowen) and Reiki. Xanthe works with people of all ages and animals, particularly dogs and horses.

As well as having her own practice, Xanthe enjoys teaching natural therapies including; Reflexology, Indian Head Massage and CranioSacral Therapy. Xanthe was a tutor at the Canterbury College of Natural Medicine based in Christchurch teaching both introductory and Diploma level courses from 2004-2010 until the Diploma courses were discontinued. Xanthe also taught Anatomy & Physiology and Pathology for the College of Natural Health and Homeopathy at their Christchurch based campus from 2012-2016. Xanthe now teaches her own workshops in Reflexology and Indian Head Massage and is an Instructor for the Upledger Institute teaching CranioSacral Therapy. 

Xanthe has studied Reiki to level III Practitioner level and is a member of Reiki New Zealand. Xanthe also has Diplomas in Body Massage and Indian Head Massage, accredited by the International Institute of Health and Holistic Therapies (IIHHT) and is a member of Massage New Zealand (MNZ).

Xanthe continues to attend courses and seminars to increase her knowledge in natural therapies. As part of the continuous up-skilling requirement for Health Practitioners New Zealand Xanthe has attended postgraduate reflexology courses in; Hand Reflexology, Ear Reflexology, Maternity Reflexology, Ayurvedic Reflexology, Vertical Reflexology and CranioSacral Therapy in Reflexology as well as workshops presented at annual Conferences held by RNZ and MNZ.

She also practices CranioSacral Therapy and Visceral Manipulation. She is the New Zealand Satellite for the Upledger Institute who teach CranioSacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release courses around the world. Xanthe is a Diplomate Certified CranioSacral Therapist and has attended many courses since 2003 onwards in CranioSacral Techniques, mouth work, SomatoEmotional Release and CranioSacral Therapy for Paediatrics. Xanthe incorporates these techniques into her treatment sessions.

Xanthe receives invitations to talk to groups on both Reflexology and Indian Head Massage, during 2004 she presented 2 workshops at the Massage Institute of New Zealand conference (now called MNZ), in 2008 presented 2 workshops at the Massage New Zealand conference and in 2012, 2013, 2017, 2018 and 2021 presented workshops at the Reflexology New Zealand conference. She has a passion for learning and continues to carefully choose courses and qualifications that add to her skill set of techniques she is able to offer clients, some recent ones include becoming a practitioner of Facial Kinetics a Bowen therapy in 2018 and a certified Zero Balancer in 2018.

Prior to becoming a therapist Xanthe graduated with an honours degree in Applied Chemistry (1992) and worked as a Research Scientist then a Marketing Services Manager in a busy international sales office. Xanthe fully understands the demands that such environments have on people, and the place in today’s society for natural therapies to assist with health maintenance in a non intrusive way.
